Driving Change of South Carolina Receives CIF Grant

Driving Change, in partnership with Paperboie Trucking LLC, has been selected as a 2025 Community Impact Fund (CIF) Grant Awardee. The grant was awarded by the South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development (SCACED) in collaboration with the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation. This funding will enable Driving Change to expand its mission of providing Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training, workforce development, and economic mobility opportunities across South Carolina.

Expanding Opportunity Through CDL Training

The grant from the CIF is a significant investment in Driving Change's vision to create lasting community impact. The funding will be used to broaden the reach of its programs, which focus on CDL training and workforce development. The initiative is designed to provide economic opportunities and new career pathways in the transportation and logistics sectors. This is especially vital in South Carolina, where the truck-driving industry is projected to add thousands of jobs annually.

Targeted Support for Underserved Communities

Driving Change's mission extends beyond just training; it aims to provide a path to economic mobility for a diverse group of individuals. The program specifically targets and supports:

  • Reentry citizens

  • At-risk youth

  • Veterans

  • Individuals seeking new career paths

By focusing on these communities, Driving Change is working to address systemic barriers and create a more inclusive workforce. The organization and its partner, Paperboie Trucking LLC, are committed to opening doors and changing lives by helping individuals build skills and secure stable, family-wage employment.

A Collaborative Community Impact

The South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development (SCACED), with support from the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation, established the Community Impact Fund to support organizations doing transformative, community-rooted work. The fund's mission is to expand access, equity, and long-term opportunities for South Carolina residents. Driving Change's selection as a grantee highlights its alignment with these values and recognizes its potential to make a meaningful difference in the lives of many South Carolinians.
